Nakeita Johnson, MA, LPC
Nakeita Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. She holds dual licensure, allowing her to provide counseling services in both Alabama and Georgia. With a decade of professional experience, she has worked with diverse populations including children, families, adolescents, adults, and male youth offenders aged 14 to 17 involved in the DeKalb County Juvenile Drug Court. Her experience spans multiple settings, such as community-based counseling, foster care residential counseling, clinical outpatient services, and hospital inpatient care for individuals with cognitive impairments.
Currently, Nakeita provides therapy for clients dealing with a range of challenges, including those with psychotic features, depression, anxiety, loss of identity, stress, attachment issues, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and adjustment disorders—particularly for those facing chronic medical diagnoses or experiencing a loss of faith in God.
Nakeita deeply understands the challenges and setbacks brought on by various disorders and traumatic experiences. Her commitment is to advocate for and support individuals who are often overlooked or misunderstood. She believes that, with proper mental health care, every person can achieve personal contentment, happiness, and success.
She provides a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to feel heard, understood, and supported. Her professional goal is to help individuals transform their pain, rather than transmit it. Nakeita embraces a holistic approach to therapy by addressing mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. She integrates spirituality into psychotherapy, blending the special revelation of God’s word with general revelations found in psychological science. Christian counseling is offered only when clients specifically request and consent to it, ensuring respect for everyone’s spiritual preferences.
In her personal time, Nakeita enjoys watching action and comedy films and spending quality moments with her family and friends.
